History

Every transcription is kept in the history, on the left of the window, together with its summary, its questions, its translations and the corrections you made. The button on the left of the top bar shows or hides it.

Type in Search to find the transcriptions whose name, text, note, tag or source contain the words, ignoring the case.

Each row shows the name, the date, the kind of source (File, URL, Microphone, Folder or Watched folder) or its tag, and its status if it isn’t done: Queued, Watching, Failed, Cancelled or Interrupted (when Audiotext was closed before it finished).

Right-click a transcription to:

  • Rename it.
  • Add note… or Edit note…: a note about it, shown in its header.
  • Delete note…: deletes its note, after asking you.
  • Edit tag…: a short label shown instead of the kind of source.
  • Pin to the top or Unpin it.
  • Move to group: put it in a group, or create a New group….
  • Show in Finder (or Explorer, or the file manager): open the folder of its source file.
  • Delete… it.

Groups gather related transcriptions, such as the ones of a project or a course. Create one with New group at the top of the history, or from Move to group. Right-click a group to Rename group… or Delete group…. Deleting a group keeps its transcriptions, without a group.

Deleting a transcription removes it, its summary, its questions and its translations from the history. Your audio, video and saved files are not deleted.

Removing a folder also removes its files from the history, and asks whether to also delete the files saved for them (off by default). Your audio and video files are never deleted.

When a transcription fails, is cancelled or is interrupted, its page shows why and lets you Try again or Delete it.

The history is stored in your user configuration folder, with the recordings of the microphone. See Files and data.
